BLG Wins $100,000 Jury Verdict on Tortious Interference Case

Bosson Legal Group is dedicated to fighting for and securing justice and compensation for our clients— no better illustrated that in the firm’s recent victory in the Egnew v. Bavely, et. al. case (CL19001298-00) recently heard before a jury in Arlington County Circuit Court. The case involved an employee, Mr. Egnew, who worked as a manager at an Audi dealership in Northern Virginia. Mr. Egnew was terminated in 2016 due to an allegedly anonymous, unbiased employee survey crafted by the automotive company’s president’s daughter, Ms. Bavely. Instead of being an unbiased survey however, its creator, who did not like Mr. Egnew, engineered the results to bring about his termination and even instructed non-employees to provide negative, fabricated survey answers. When her interference with our client’s contract and employment were discovered in 2018, he sought legal recourse to clear his name and Bosson Legal Group filed suit against Ms. Bavely, and those that assisted her in undermining Mr. Egnew and propagating the biased survey which led to his termination.

A jury of Mr. Egnew’s peers heard his case, argued by Tim Bosson of Bosson Legal Group, in a trial that began on January 18, 2022. The jury returned with a verdict, finding that Ms. Bavely had tortiously interfered with Mr. Egnew’s contract and subsequently awarded him $100,000 in damages for compensation. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Mr. Egnew’s case was delayed time and time again, but Tim Bosson and Bosson Legal Group stayed in the fight to give Mr. Egnew the chance to have his day and court, and ultimately, the victory.
